February 2007 - Amethyst Technologies, LLC has purchased Cell Systems, Inc. an established biotechnology services company with 15 years experience. This acquisition has resulted in Amethyst Technologies, LLC being awarded the contract to provide calibration and validation at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research's Pilot Bioproduction Facility in Silver Spring, MD. Amethyst Technologies, LLC will be responsible for more than 1500 instruments and all equipment, software, and process validations at this Division of Regulated Activities facility.

Amethyst Technologies, LLC is committed in giving back to the community.  We introduced the “Amethyst Technologies, LLC Internship in Bioengineering” in 2007.  This is a year long internship where Amethyst Technologies provides a deserving young scientist training in all aspects of bioengineering, from validation and calibration to cGMP training and biopharmaceutical processes.  All costs involved with training and supplies for the intern are paid by Amethyst Technologies, LLC.

June 2007 - Amethyst Technologies, LLC received a Strategic Assistance Consulting Fund (SACF) grant funded by The Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED) in June 2007 to develop the human resources program. The HR Team, a Columbia, Maryland based company, will be developing policies and procedures and providing guidance on labor law compliance under this grant.
